De aller fleste motorsykler med injeksjonsmotorer kjører fra fabrikk med en mager blanding, det vil si lite drivstoff kontra luft (AFR = Air/Fuel Ratio). Det er nødvendig å overholde de strenge miljø- og forurensningskravene, samtidig som man opprettholder en sunn drivstofføkonomi.

Denne magre blandingen kan forårsake problemer med tanke på motorsykkelens motorturtall, gassrespons og virke rastløs. Den kjøres ofte så mager at den blir unødvendig varm. Du ser ofte dårlig motor som går på lavere turtall, dårlig gassrespons og tilbakeslag på sykler med ettermontert sportspott. En BoosterPlug løser alle disse problemene!

BoosterPlug er en danskutviklet løsning som gir en fetere blanding ved å samarbeide med motorsykkelens ECU og O2 sensor. Det fungerer der du trenger det. Nemlig ved lave til middels høye turtall (Closed Loop Mapping) Der du normalt befinner deg og trenger stillegående motorgang, god gassrespons og komfort, mens ved høye turtall (Open Loop Mapping).

ECU-en virker på O2-sensoravlesningen. BoosterPlug er et Plug-and-Play-system som sitter mellom ECU og temperatursensoren i luftfilterboksen. Nettopp, det får ECU til å tro at den atmosfæriske luften er kaldere enn den faktisk er (høyere oksygentetthet). Dette gjør at ECU automatisk gir mer og dermed oppnås en fetere blanding, uten overmating av motoren.

I motsetning til f.eks. Power-Commander er BoosterPlug som er utrolig enkel å installere og vil være den beste løsningen i de aller fleste tilfeller. Power Commander er bra for hardcore-syklistene som har mye tid til å stå på banen, men for den vanlige motorsyklisten som bare vil ha litt mer ut av motorsykkelen eller rett og slett har installert en mer åpen pott - Da er BoosterPlug en langt bedre løsning.

Det finnes mange produkter som BoosterPlug, men de lider alle av det samme problemet: De øker ikke drivstofftilførselen med riktig mengde over hele temperaturspekteret. Med BoosterPlug oppnår du en økt drivstofftilførsel på rundt 6% ved både -30°, 5° og 40° Celsius, mens de andre produktene kun øker med 6% ved 20° Celsius, 12% ved 40° og 1% ved -30°, det vil si at mengden bensin som tilføres svinger med de andre løsningene, mens BoosterPluggens tilførsel er konstant.

Dette oppnås ved hjelp av Boosterpluggens egen temperatursensor, som gjør det mulig å justere etter atmosfærisk temperatur og ikke bare basert på en fast kurve/kartlegging. SpeedoHealer TSD-modellen har en topphastighetsavgrensningsfunksjon. Den er inaktiv som standard. Du kan aktivere denne funksjonen kun for racingformål på lukkede baner, helt på egen risiko. Den må ikke brukes på offentlig vei!
Denne enheten kan konfigureres for å unngå toppfartsbegrensningen på motorsykler og ATV-er som har en topphastighetsbegrensning basert på hastighetssignalet (som CBR1000RR, VFR800X, GL1800, VFR1200F, ZX-10R, ZX-12R, ZX-14 , FZ-09, MT-09, YZF-R1, V-Max, Can-Am, Kawasaki, Polaris ATV og flere).
